Dunno, because I didn't watch the Oscars, but that young actor certainly deserved it if he did.

I just watched platoon for the first time. What an amazing movie. Strongly advise it to any Vietnam War movie fans.

The Tortured.

After a married couple's young son is kidnapped, and tortured to death by a sick, evil serial killer, they devise a plan to break him out of the prison transport in order to slowly torture him to death. Very grim, and not easy to watch.

netflix dvd: Room

saw it last night. it was ok. i don't get the hype about it, but I guess for the kid having to act like he's never seen buildings and most stuff we take for granted--i guess he deserves that oscar. LOL
