Precious {Based on the novel Push by Sapphire}

Excellent drama, Mo'nique has a juggernaut going for her as an evil mother,
great writing, acting, and directing.

Saw Wolfman today, was very gory, not scary though, and I found it boring TBH.

I recently saw Two lovers and can´t stop thinking about the movie. The film features a guy with bipolar disorder and the character is absolutely convincing. Joaquin Phoenix did a wonderful job playing him - his awkward gestures, slightly hesitant walk, pensive eyes - all that really brings the character to life. I enjoyed the depth of his love in the film. And the end is very sad, but at the same time there is hope in it. Very, very moving. I would recommend this movie to everybody who is looking for a good psychological drama.

The last film I saw at the cinema was Avatar, which I thought was boring and too long.

The last film I saw on DVD was Love Actually. It's one of my favourite films of all time.

Shutter Island - saw it last night, awesome movie and great motif work.
Angels and Demons (saw tonight) - I guess it was a good movie in terms of resolution, though I rolled my eyes through about the first half of it if not three quarters.

Mad Max (alright), The Road Warrior (good), and two-thirds of the way through Beyond Thunderdome (terrible) before I gave up.

Porco Rosso: I thought it was funny. Not in the top 3 Hayao Miyazaki films, but it's good (those spots are reserved for Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Tortoro, and The Cat Returns)

Reporter

A documentary about a journalist
for the New York Times.
A fascinating movie of what makes a reporter a reporter.

It was part of the Portland International Film Festival.
My $10 ticket was worth it.

Sons of Cuba

Not a fan of sports movies, but this is a documentary
of Havana's boxing school. Olympic hopefuls
are groomed from a young age.
If you don't like kids, you will be likely rooting
for Cuban kid boxers when they are in the ring.

A part of the Portland International Film Festival.

Watched "Motel Hell" last night. It had its good and bad aspects, but overall it was mediocre.

King Kong, the original 1933 version. I don't care if the special effects are dated and the acting seems old-fashioned too, it was a great movie.
