Had an Alien marathon with my friend over the weekend, all 4 movies. Next weekend is the Predator & Alien VS Predator marathon. Should be fun. :D

Surrogates: Good premise, nothing original but interesting. They botched it with clichés though.

District 9: Loved everything about it, especially the decision to make it happen somewhere other than the US.

I saw Zombieland last night. Love it.

I saw that several times at the cinema when it first came out, and really enjoyed it (Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee was ten kinds of awesome. The finale where he mows down legions of zombies by himself is just insanely cool...). Of course, that probably had a great deal to do with the fact that Emma Stone is a really quite stunning young lady, but who can say for sure? :P

As for new films, I saw Green Zone last night, which is a film starring Matt Damon, and which is adapted from a novel where a soldier discovers that the reasons America went to war in 2003 were all completely made up (well, duh ;)). Pretty good movie, all told - plenty of action sequences, good drama and a sterling performance from Damon all made it a very enjoyable experience.

I just finished watching The Princess and the Frog after renting it from Blockbuster; it was okay. It has sort of a sad ending (one of the protagonists gets killed).

Shutter Island was very gimmicky, but it had its scary moments. My favorite scene was the psuedo flashback where the American Infantry shot all the guards at the German death camp. That never happened in fact, but it was a wonderful idea. Read the riot act to the bastards, then fill them with lead.

Inglorious Bastards - Knew the premise, wasn't dying to see it but I think around the time of the restaurant scene I got a good laugh about where things were going. Entertaining watch.

Boondock Saints II - All Saints Day - I was ambivalent on this one, I liked the last quarter of the movie probably better than the first three. Julie Benz and Cliff Collins both had really weird/goofy scripts though, between them and the three detectives it was like you were watching a good movie on one side and a really terrible one on the other.

And they let the guy who did a Robespierre on himself deal with it on his own.

Nightmare on Elm Street...

I doubt that I'll ever forget that guy being sucked into the bed and grinded up... then regurgitated back out all over the ceiling.

Alice in Wonderland was delightfully trippy. Reminded me of Morrowind.

The Men Who Stare at Goats- Too stupid and juvenile for its own good.
Law Abiding Citizen- A repellently violent mess. Yuck.
