I found the locker room scene, in which Stallone is seen crying over the death of his late wife, particularly heart-wrenching. He's a better actor than many give him credit for, that's for sure.

I've never stopped being drawn to those films either. I've always had a strong affliction with family types, and the type who afflict me in a common sense, so film wise, there must always be a person behind the mask of Goldie Hawn lookalikes. I can feign shock the same way cold water sinks a lone passenger in Titanic or Overboard.
You can't buy stereotypes the way you can pawn in sunken treasure.. the credits outweigh itself.

Which locker room scene was that then? I don't remember there being one, just the one where he was with Mickey in the locker/warm-up room as he was laying still.
Stallone only bawled once over the death of his late wife when he was in the meat chillers with Paulie.. talking about 'the beast inside.'
He only lets rip when he's in the ring. The scene I found moved me the most was his grief over Apollo and when he died. I also felt sorry for him when he got let down by 'Tommy the MACHINE GUN'. What a hoax he turned out to be.

I connected with the scene later on when Mickey was speaking to him from spirit.. beyond the grave.

Only recently watched Our Idiot Brother. Plenty of slightly awkward, self concious laughs. I'm also incredibly clueless and have been similarly scapegoated through the years.

...I saw Suicide Squad theatrically (In " regular " proportions/flat , not 3-D or Imax or whatnot) ~ having to pay , for a regular movie , nighttime adult prices - $14.49 ! And what the popcorn/Icee I bought cost , oy vey...I should do this in my financial state ?
Well , I hadn't seen any movies theatrically in so long , (I had ended up feeling tired/being late and backing off from a plan couple of movie-going plans) , no TV or DVD , remember , and now I can " boast " about high San Francisco prices...

I was referring to a scene in Creed. It's where he admits to Adonis that he's been diagnosed with cancer but he won't be accepting chemotherapy because of what happened to his wife.

I picked out this scene in Rocky V, as its the one where he's reached his lowest point and reflects back on past memories.

You've really got to watch the whole boxset to appreciate his life stories work. Stallone reaches out to people on an emotional level,
Life based stories are like that.

^^I watched Creed months ago, probably JANUARY.
I didn't find the scene heart wrenching as you put it, but I do remember it, and thinking, (he's gonna die, really?)but they finish all people off like that, soaps the lot.
The Rocky Legacy is a work of art and I've seen them all.. and I resonated with films like these, when I was younger

Its probably not best to watch these films if you are feeling sad, angry or clinically depressed .

Rambo III had less acting credits, even though he,(Stallone) had to carry out some really dangerous stunts.

Stallone fighting back for status, this is a competant heartfelt speech just to save face,i thought.

The Nutty Professor.
I like the older Eddie Murphy films.

I saw Elle, the latest Paul Verhoeven movie. Set in France, it's about Michele, a video game company CEO who is raped in her own house, in the wake of the release of a documentary about her serial killer father who is serving a life prison sentence.

The acting performances were excellent, but I do think the plot was a bit messy toward the end. Certain plotlines and leitmotivs were dropped, and character motivations left unexplained.

Goodnight Mommy.

Wonderfully twisted German language movie about when the mother of twin boys, Lukas and Elias, returns home from facial surgery, with her face hidden in bandages. They come to believe she is not really their mother, even after the bandages come off. What they do next to force her to tell where their mother is isn't for the faint of heart. What is really happening is a true surprise ending.

War Dogs.
I liked it. I would give it two and a half stars. I could not help and wonder if it would have been a Great Film had Martin Scorsese or David O Russell had made it.
