I knew there were hints of that in the actual show... particularly them driving off into the sunset together, when the Doctor and Rose leave them in the parallel universe. It reminded me of Humphrey Bogart and the police chief at the end of Casablanca, "this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

Let's go liberate Paris...
What? You and me? Liberate Paris?
Yeah... Why not? I once saved the universe with a big yellow van...

I really do like Micky. 8)

Hey. Some people were saying the weeping angels are, or were time lords.

In Tennant's last episode, The End of Time, Rassilon declared that the two Time Lords who opposed him (who covered their eyes in the same way as the Weeping Angels) were 'monuments to their shame, and will stand witness as the Weeping Angels of old'.

Dunno what that means.

He was dissing them by both comparing them to an inferior species and saying that they should be ashamed for opposing him (when in reality, they were probably more ashamed of what the Time Lords were doing).

I quite like this new Doctor, even though i'll always consider Tennant's Tenth Doctor to be "my doctor" (thus replacing Tom Baker, whose serials I grew up watching in repeats in the mid-90s on PBS). Matt Smith seems like he's going to be "similar but different" to how Tennant did the role. He's a bit more "zany" that Tennant, though, and i'm quite liking that.

Karen Gillan is shaping up to be a good companion. So far she doesn't seem to be an "oh, save me Doctor!/Doctor, i'm scared"-type companion. Oh, and her legs are very nice indeed!

btw, here in America, we're up to "The Time of Angels". "Flesh and Stone" will air Saturday. I like that BBC America has the rights now, they cut much less out of the episodes then Sci Fi did. The version of "The Eleventh Doctor" they showed was more or less intact and put into an irregular time slot to accommodate this (it has been cut down to 45 minutes for repeats, though).

Has anyone heard the theory that River Song is The Rani? I hate this theory.

That would be too lazy, as much as I would like the Rani and the Meddling Monk to come back.

The Meddling Monk, now there's a blast from the past! Can you imagine if he was stuck back there for centuries... boy, would he hate the Doctor by now!

I really don't think that River Song can be the Rani. For one thing, Time Lords always recognise each other, so River Song can't be the same species as the Doctor.

And I agree, it would be hideously lazy writing.

Amy's Choice

Favourite Line of the Episode
"You threw the manual into a supernova?"
"I didnt agree with it"

I'm slightly disappointed by that episode.. Although frozen Tardis looked cooooool.
I was thinking through most of the episode the Dream Lord was River Song from the computer simulation especially the bit about the name.. But then it came to a rather boring answer..

It lookd quite good in the NEXT WEEK thing but I was a bit dissapointed. The storyline wasn't as clever as it could have been (not that I would have undrstood it!) and if anything it was TOO confusing. Also I thought they were tryiing for less of the emotional crap this season... BLEAUGH!! !

Sorry about the missing/double vowels, my keyboard has gone haywire...

Amy's Choice wasn't my favourite episode of the series...It was good but not fantastic like the Weeping Angels episode.
I'm looking forward to the next episode though. :D

I still like it, because it's just such a relief to find two characters (Amy and Rory) who have a genuine relationship beyond their connection to the Doctor. I also liked Amy choosing possible death over life without Rory... is it just me, or was that a suicide attempt? And the Doctor went along with it! He must be getting tired.

It's only the second time they've done suicide in the series (of a companion that is.) The other time was one of my favourite characters, Turlough.

Oh, so Lord Dream was the Valyard, when you think about it... I liked the warped reflection on the Tardis console at the end.

"I know who you are. There's only one person in the universe who hates me that much..."

Good episode. Not as brilliant as the angel ones, but still very strong.

Oh... the funniest line was definitely the Doctor, after meeting the heavily gravid Amy, commenting that she looked like she'd swallowed a planet etc, suddenly saying, "are you pregnant?"

A Valeyard is a Gallifreyan term for a court prosecutor, but the Valeyard in the epic story Trial of a Timelord turns out to be an amalgamation of all of the Doctor's darkness and evil from somewhere between his 12th and 13th bodies. Imagine all that given flesh. Think the Dream Lord, from what I've read of him, turned to 11. This is a trailer from the story that shows the Valeyard (the guy in the black skullcap).

I've just remembered Amy's best line from the episode, after she's given them all ponchos to keep warm. She stands between "her boys," puts her arms around them and says, "if we're going to die let's go out looking like a Peruvian folk band..."

It's good that the Doctor doesn't get all the best lines. Having witty, bright, intelligent companions who are capable of adult relationships is SUCH a nice change.
