Mmmm a lot of people taking this far to seriously. And only one poster identified the best gag of all. Cartman got it wrong because he interpreted ass burgers literally therefore suggesting that he might actually have AS. Although only demonstrating one aspergers trait would make that assumption unsafe.

Chill out and realise that the writers are very clever and you have probably missed their point.

If you expected to be offended and misrepresented then you will have prejudged the episode. They tend to take the mick with a broad brush rather than the pointed stick that most of you claim you saw.

The only real thing I took from that episode is they portray asperger's as completely disregarding social acceptable behavior, then exaggerating it like they usually do. Of course, they say the cure to social awdwardness is alcohol..

Either way I've heard Ass burgers 100,000 times.. it's never funny. :? Maybe the first 2 times.

Check out the video: Aspergers Syndrome: South Park (WTF?!?)

This video says exactly what I think about those idiots. Raise your volume when you watch it, my mic quality is bad

Well it is Southpark.......and I don't think the point of that episode was to make fun of aspergers, I forget what I ended up thinking it was about so I'll have to watch it again. But I liked that episode.

That's mostly true, actually.

Southpark is modeled after Littleton, Colorado. I don't really like Southpark, anyway.

I actually didn't mind the episode myself. It wasn't taking the mickey out of AS as such but rather people's ignorance towards the condition.

Congratulations, my friend. That was the point of the episode, and it is and was the point most of the time when south park portrays something incredibly offensive and people flip out. They flip out because they don't get it.

Also, that episode had a perfect portrayal of two aspie kids in the school.

This guy gets it, Southpark is often a caricature of how stupid people are, that's why for example...the gays in it are all flaming super flirty feminine bears and such, but in the end there ain't a show more morally upright, I say that without any irony or sarcasm, southpark is right about most everything.

But hey, if you folks wanna feel butthurt over this, well welcome to the esteemed group of people called "people offended by southpark because they're idiots".

Actually, Fairplay, Colorado is the model for Southpark.

You people do realise that south parks entire humour framework is built around obvious misconceptions from which we can derive humorous speculations. I was happy to finally be the butt of a South park Joke, it means we get some public recognition (ask yourself why you have never seen anyone interpret south parks surreal take on society as fact). South park is popular media that we were featured on, right? Besides, if there are people out there who take their social skills from south park, I sincerely doubt we should be bothered about what they think of us as they are probably more concerned with their jobs flipping burgers or the gospel advice of "OK" magazine.

Now can we please, as a culture, move on?

The reason that south park does not offend me- It tries to offend every one in every way. It is an equal opportunity employer (except for scientology)

First off, I think I deserve some sort of medal for actually reading through all these comments. While reading them, I felt kind of like Stan in this very episode when he turns on the radio and s**t comes out.

Just kidding guys!

Anyways, as one of the minuscule number people on the planet that actually understands this episode (aside from the people that wrote it), I must say that I liked it. Except for the ending :(

I liked how at the beginning s**t came out of the radio and the president was a duck, and later words came out of the radio and the president was a man. The ending was sad though when Stan was ready to fly and leave everyone and everything behind, but couldn't. Stan was at the point in his life where school no longer drained him of dopamine but rather caused him to hemorrhage dopamine, but he still couldn't free himself of the past. Oh well, I guess it could always be worse. At least he didn't lose an arm in World War 2 like Daniel Inouye.

Ugh. I doubt one will be forthcoming as this is a pretty old topic. This thread was dead back in February, and it was only one of many about the same thing. Did we really have to go back there?

Oh well. Here we go again...

I actually enjoyed the episode and thought of the jokes and insults about Asperger's as a parody of how some people still view and portray Asperger's. Seriously, the last thing we need is another Tom Cruise or 2 million+ Tom Cruise's.

Note: Tom Cruise is the only person other than Muslims to be offended by South Park portrayal.
