The end of any depressing 1970's Sci-Fi movie starring a guy in a turtleneck.

Jumanji. Left with a cliff hanger but no sequel. So did the Super Mario Bros. movie, but that film was utter garbage so I'm glad that no sequel was made.

I believe there actually WAS a sequel to Jumanji. It wasn't called Jumanji II or anything, but some other oddball word that supposed to be another game title. I apologize for not remembering the name at the moment.

Zathura--well, kind of. More like "Recycled IN SPACE".

Paths of Glory

Kirk Douglas failed to save the three soldiers.

A few of you have already mentioned 'Requiem for a Dream,' and rightly so, it's horrible! It is however nothing compared to a film I saw a few days ago called 'Last Exit to Brooklyn,' which should have come with a health warning! It is as grim a movie as you could possibly imagine, and that includes it's ending.

Oh and Goldeneye too! I can't believe Famke Janssen's character died and James Bond survived. She should have squeezed him to death with her killer thighs, would have been the most fantastic ending to a movie ever. Talk about a twist! I mean if you've got to go......

Citizen Kane

They never found out that Rosebud was the name of Kane's sled although we the audience did.

"Drag Me to Hell." Though I'm sure you could have guessed from the title. The heroine tries to get rid of the envelope containing the cursed button, but she got mixed up and gave away the wrong envelope. Then she gets dragged to hell. The film is pretty scary, but it has a very humorous tone to it, and the ending is no exception.

Rosemary's Baby

I thought that Rosemary was going to get her baby away from the coven, but she didn't.

Got a few:

The SAW movies. All of them.
The Green Mile (R.I.P. Michael Duncan, both in the movie and IRL)
Se7en
American History X
My Dog Skip. Okay, so the ending's bittersweet. But it's one of few movies besides The Green Mile that's made me cry.
In the Mouth of Madness
Sinister
Paranormal Activity
Spellbinder
Troll 2 (although I can't tell if the ending's creepy, unintentionally hilarious [like the rest of the movie], or both)
Angel Heart
Dagon
The Grey
And several more.

I don't know why, but somehow I like downer endings if they're done right. Maybe it's because of my (manageable) depression, or maybe it's because for some movies, it's the only way for it to work.

Predators

It ends with the last two survivors still stuck on the planet with the Predators.

No Country For Old Men

Anton Chigurh kills Llewelyn Moss, very possibly his wife, and gets away with it.

.

Why is that any more disturbing than what happened to the ones that were brutally slaughtered?

It's not. It's just that is also opening ended. I don't understand what the whole point of that movie was. . .

The good thing about the premise is that you can have anyone, and any alien in the sequel. They should cast Arnold.
