The Predator (2018) or anything else by that same director

Partially because it's part of that f-cking stupid naming trend where instead of thinking of an original title they just put "the" in front of it for some reason which I hate with all my being. Seriously, we've got Predator, Predators and The Predator. To hell with that.

But more importantly because the director controversially gave a small role to his pedophile friend.
As he had apparently done in previous films. Also, the cameo apparently had his character making unwanted advances toward one of the main characters whose actress coincidentally has been the victim of sexual harassment before and as such was less than amused when she found out about the dude's past.
The director defended it until public pressure convinced him to half-ass an apology and fox tried to cover it up.

Hollywood being hollywood I guess but I won't stand for it.

Movies that scared the hell outta me:

The Truman Show
Silence of the Lambs
Get Out

I'd never be able to watch them again. I couldn't even finish Get Out.

Consider watching the latter two again. Maybe IMO you could like them.

(A reason why my mom hates Get Out so much is because it reminded her too much of when she arrived in the US in 1980. The paternal side of the family treated her like dirt because she spoke no English, never attended high school, and had no understanding of American culture. My mom did enjoy watching Us.)

But you're right about The Truman Show.
I like Jim Carrey, but there is NO WAY
anyone can make me watch The Truman Show. 8O

I've read many articles about people who went literally crazy after watching
The Truman Show with some people believing that their world wasn't real.

To hell with The Truman Show.

@ DHB: Consider watching Will Ferrell in Stranger Than Fiction.
He gives a great performance and received a Golden Globe nod for his acting.

I liked EdTV a lot better, but haven't seen it in ages.

I was terrified of it because I have Scopophobia (fear of being watched or looked at).

The Twilight series.

Sat down to watch the first one with my kids (didn't read the books). Turned it off when the vamps sparkled and irrationally avoid films with the 2 main leads.

I've only seen it in the theater so that means 1998. I remember some things about it (and encourage people not to post any spoilers!) and...I think I enjoyed it when I saw it, too. But that was a long time ago. I think my strongest memory is that I thought Jim Carrey had done an excellent job.

Like many, I don't understand how and why The Twilight Series became so popular.

We all know that Twilight fanfic ended up being the worse 50 Shades Trilogy.

BTW, do consider watching Robert Pattinson in The Lighthouse.
He gives an excellent performance alongside Willem Dafoe as keepers of a lighthouse.

I managed to get through the second one also, but after that decided I had enough. Bleh.
Sparkly vampires are the least thing to bother me about those films.

The Birds. I love Hitchcock, but I have no desire to watch this particular film. Just seems stupid.

Most horror movies in general because they are destructive.

I will not watch Man’s Best Friend because the trailer scared me as a kid. Especially since I have a love for ginger cats.
