The last Saturday before Christmas is the 22nd, and I highly doubt The Hub would release an episode on Christmas day. Unless you mean a Christmas-themed episode, in which case I don't think there's ever been one unless you count Hearth's Warming Eve which is vaguely related at best.

First three. The jokes are great after you get acquainted with the characters.

Ah. The fourth episode (Applebuck Season) is a huge step up from the first three, and is actually one of the best episodes of the first season, or at least that's my opinion.

So I see you are on the same page as most of the fandom. Yes, the theme is the cheesiest part of the show.

I wish season 3 would give more Derpy sightings. And I'm still waiting for AJ, the best pony, to finally get her own episode.

She do get a episode in season 1 (Applebuck Season), and she may get another one this season. (Apple Family Reunion) Of course, this is not much.

Good episode, though Spitfire could have been better with both her voice and character. The Pinkie parts were also bad. Lightning Dust seems to be a testbook case psychopath.
