If given to the right writer and director, this could be The Godfather of aspie movies! It would be Adam times a hundred, and the best part is that's it's a true story. In regards to a director, I think Ron Howard, Robert Redford, or Clint Eastwood would do the film justice. As to who would play John Elder Robison, it would have to be a complete unknown, as to avoid any preconceptions about the character. I have to admit I would LOVE to play Robison. I have this unusual and bordering on creepy ability to mimic people's voices and mannerisms. In relation to getting into character, that wouldn't be much of a problem, we are both aspies and have struggled with many of the same issues in life. In a nutshell, it would be like when they casted Mickey Rourke to play the lead in The Wrestler. There wasn't much acting going on there, he was truly playing himself! In my opinion, only a true aspie should play this role in order to ensure 100% accuracy.

The book was quite good. One would have to ask John Elder Robison if he would wat the book adapted to a movie though.
