A very good show with new episodes every Sunday at 9pm. One of the more dangerous and deadliest job careers with Alaskan Crab Fishermen and Loggers. Hugh and Alex from Canada are among the best from Canada but can they survive the Dalton in Alaska?

i have watched it a few times. i prefer "deadliest catch" because they are in more danger, and they have "gruffer" personalities.

i know that in "ice road truckers", the trucks may fall through the ice into the sea below, but i am sure that the ice road would be tested for thickness often, and if a truck did break the surface, that it should not just plunge into the depths immediately.
the first part of the truck that breaks through the "thin" ice is the front wheels, and the truck would come to a halt by it's hood smashing into the ice in front of it.

the rear wheels of the truck would still be on the thicker ice that the front of the truck rode already over without incident, and they would help prevent the prime mover (the cabin and engine of the truck) from dropping into the depths (i think).

so i think that a truck driver in a "rig" that breaks through the ice would have much chance to open his door and jump out onto the surrounding ice and he would just wait to be picked up. he may see his truck eventually slide down and disappear, but it would be after enough time for him to escape.

in "deadliest catch", if they are trapped in a gale for example, then they are committed to ride out 60ft waves in freezing conditions and it looks frightening to be on those boats.

i would prefer to drive a truck over an ice road to being a deck hand on those north sea trawlers.

I like both the Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers. Ice Road Truckers' First and Second Season were in Canada so America is the third season. This is reality T.V. that is not scripted at all.

Sig Hansen and Phil Harris are the Chuck Norris of the Bering Sea!

Alex and Hugh are the Chuck Norris of the Ice Road!
