I just finished the second episode.
I liked Captain Jack in Dr. Who so that's why I started it. I'm not too far into it yet, but so far so good. Pretty fun. (:

I'll give you that, especially gwen in my opinion. But I do love the show in general. I'm terribly heart broken after the last episode though

I ust can't stand anything that Russel T Davies has got his grubby mits on. I only like the old Dr Who (at least the assistants were mostly just "Horatio" type characters rather than the Doctor's love interest). If the assistant were important characters, however, they were good characters, not a bunch of emotionally weak morons like Rose.

Torchwood was even worse; weak characterisation; weak plotlines; gratuitous sex and crappy special effects. There- I said it.

Can someone summarize what Children of the Earth is about? I haven't caught up with Torchwood since season one.

In the first episode something makes every child on Earth suddenly freeze and not move.

It's aliens of course.

Torchwood has to find a way to stop both the alien threat and a British government who is working against them.

There are some funny moments, most notably Ianto and the SUV, but the final two episodes

Oh and COE was designed for people who have never seen TW before, as well as regular viewers so it shouldn't matter than you haven't seen TW since season one, but you might be confused at the abscence (sp?) of certain characters.

I saw an ad for that the other day, it looked interesting, too bad BBC America is only available from my cable company in a channel package full of other channels I have no desire to watch or pay for.

I found it brillient but very draining and overwhelming being on all week.

it's /was very dark, brutal, funny in places, surprisingly very political and probably perfect for someone who's bitter, cynical and hates children.
