I have a curious recollection of 7th Heaven, b/c as was pointed out, towards the end it got really goofy. It hardly resembled the first 4 or 5 seasons which really attempted to delve into serious issues. They would have an episode with a certain theme, and a lot of the kids and the parents would contribute in some way to the overall moral of the story. For example, I think I can remember a show about addiction or a bad habit episode. Ruthie the youngest child, couldn't stop chewing gum. Simon had to get his coffee fix. And so forth. I remember they did an episode on huffing, on gang violence. On school violence (and the good Reverend got shot by a kid!). I never liked how the characters changed. Mary Camden (Jessica Biel) got really annoying. Right when she was shipped off to Buffalo and around later on when she came back, is when the show started to make a slow decline. They kept bringing in all of these outside characters! I like Ashlee Simpson, but they brought in Jeremy London who I couldn't stand, The Stultz brothers annoyed me. The girl from the TV show Clueless. I didn't mind Robbie. And in that final season, T-Bone?! !! Come on now! And that Martin guy was also annoying, the kid who played baseball and also moved into the house. I also always found it interesting how in real life, Beverley Mitchell is older than Jessica Biel, yet her character Lucy was Mary's (Biel) younger sister.
