I'm a fan of the show, and a linguist/translator by profession. So I'm glad the plots have stayed away from my area of expertise, in which I can get very testy and picky.
They've already done a lot with language/translation indirectly. The house SARAH speaks quite well, as did Nathan Stark's android son, both remarkable accomplishments in the realm of natural language processing (and impossible in the real world so far). In the s3 episode involving the mummy, we see Zane working on the "translation" of the hieroglyphs (most of which were not real glyphs) using a computer program for the purpose.
Separately, I'd happily live there too, perhaps as a language/AI researcher.
