I watched "Sixteen Candles" on TV last night, I personally thought it was good. What do you think of the movie?

It's a classic. I've watched it many times :)

I have the movie poster in my bedroom. It's a very fun movie, in my opinion.

Always liked that one. "The Breakfast Club" is supposed to be "the" teen movie of the 80s, but I always thought "Sixteen Candles" was much better. It's funny and romantic without taking itself too seriously.

Never seen it, nor do I intend to. It gives off the vibe of being a tasteless sex comedy that was manufactured to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Then there's Molly Ringwald. She was big in the 80's, but now has an EXTREMELY SMALL cult following after making pieces of s**t like The Pick-Up Artist, For Keeps and Betsy's Wedding. She's basically become a female Bruce Campbell, appearing in B, C and even Z-movies!

I never thought much of Molly Ringwald, and I won't say the comedy is exactly classy, but it's not a sex comedy. There's shades of that subject in it, some crude humor, which isn't surprising for the time and the topic, but it's just a high school movie. Seems like an awfully harsh reaction for a movie you've never seen. I mean, it's no epic and is pretty seriously dated, but it's fairly harmless. It's got nothing on movies like American Pie, for example. It simply isn't in the same category.
