Anyone watches shows where it depicts ghosts such as Most Haunted, Paranormal State, Extreme Paranormal, Ghost Hunters, A Haunting, etc?

I do from time to time, and some are good at just delivering a "WTF" situation. Granted, with all the modern tech and "trick photography" some do try to deliver some level of realism. I will admit, however, the whole "Did you hear that?" bit is getting annoying . . . and cliche.

I don't care for them, but it gives me hope that a bunch of amateurs with a shoe-string budget can actually make a living practicing pseudo-science for entertainment.

I've watched the entire series of MTV's Fear, quite a few episodes of Most Haunted, and maybe a couple of episodes of Ghost Hunters or Ghost Adventures or something like that (a lot of them are similar such that I have a hard time telling them apart  ). In addition to having a curiosity about all the paranormal stuff, I also find it interesting to see people's reactions to stuff they can't really explain, and to see what they are willing and not willing to do.

Went to Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia and West Virginia (Moundsville) State Penitentiary a couple of weekends ago, and did the tours. Very fascinating places, especially if you're into history and the penal system. All I can say is that there's something about WV State Penitentiary that is "not right". :P

I remember when Derek Acorah was on Most Haunted. He would supposedly have a ghost control his body and talk like the ghost did when he was alive. Some of the episodes were so scary. But I read that Derek is a fraud. He either got fired or just left on his own.

This isn't a TV show, but a woman told me that her dad would call her on the phone in early morning hours. Well her dad is deceased! I have read stories of how our loved ones call us from beyond the grave. That would be so freaky! 8O

Yeah I've read a few times that Yvette from Most Haunted also fakes quite a bit. Whether she does or not, at the very least she is quite dramatic!

Yvette can be dramatic. Crying at times because a supposed ghost whispered in her ear or made strange noises. I think Most Haunted is mainly pure drama. Now Ghost Hunters to me seems to be more realistic. Did anyone catch the episode of the Florida Lighthouse? That was scary!

I wish they had ghost-hunting shows with more scientific rigor... like MythBusters.

The paranormal has become one of my "obsessions", "special interests"....whatever you want to call it. I record just about all of the shows that have been mentioned. There's a new one called "Ghost Lab" that seems to take a more scientific approach to ghost-hunting, and it's pretty good. I think it comes on either the Discovery Channel or TLC on Tuesday nights.

I've been totally obsessed with these shows for years now as well. Can't get enough of it them. When I was a kid, I was also hooked on The Twilight Zone, Creature Feature, Chiller Theatre and The Outer Limits.

Ghost Hunters (real or not) has been the only one Ive seen that at least feels like there's some scientific method used. There's some consistency to what they find too. That being said, I cant really say that anything shown on the "SyFy" channel can be said to be authentic.

Sorry, I think I'm still bitter over how badly they handled Dune.

For me, believing in ghosts would be like believing in God. I don't believe in either, and I resent having so much TV time dedicated to them.

There are new ghost shows always coming on TV. There is that new show Extreme Paranormal. Then there is Psychic Kids. I don't know about this whole ghost thing. Hotels claiming to be haunted. Well yea then people will want to stay there to see the ghosts. Maybe it's just a scam to get people to spend money at the hotels. But there are very famous hotels that claims it is haunted and it says so on its website and has pictures as well. Then there are people who claim to talk to the dead. That I don't know either. :?

I don't usually watch a lot of that on tv much. sometimes I like watching Paranormal State on A&E. I haven't watched Most Haunted, but I have been to Leap Castle (which I think was on that show, or it was another ghost show).

I do enjoy Ghost Whisperer and Medium. I guess that could count as the two ghost shows that I watch.
