Pretty simple. You talk about overrated or outright BAD movies you hate but all your friends somehow seem to like. I'll start.

BOONDOCK SAINTS - It's loud, it's INCREDIBLY dumb, and at certain points it blatantly rips off "The Professional", a much better movie. If I could only tell you how many friends of mine get down on their knees and prosthetize over this film. And when the sequel came out they said it was "good, but not as good as the original". The original was NEVER good in the first place. Also the Irish stereotyping just gets ridiculous as the film goes on. "Irish guys kill people because they destroy their favorite bar" is a punchline to a joke, not a premise for a film. I'm sure that went over Troy Duffy's head though.

EQUILIBRIUM - All my friends own the DVD. You can drizzle the symbolism over pancakes, there are plot holes you can drive a semi through, and it blatantly rips off George Lucas' THX-1138 (which in itself ripped off Orwell's 1984). What really annoys me is that almost everyone agrees "Ultraviolet" (Kurt Wimmer's other film) sucked, but they let this one off the hook. They're both equally bad.

ANCHORMAN - Now granted I was wasted when I saw this, but all my friends had recommended it up until that point. I just sat there for two hours thinking "Why is Jack Black kicking a dog off a bridge? Why is Will Ferrell wrestling a bear? Why did Luke Wilson's arms get ripped off? Did my wish come true?" Will Ferrell sucks.

TRANSFORMERS - This and Anchorman are two films me and my older brother almost come to blows over. Even after Pearl Harbor, Bad Boys 2, and The Island, he STILL defends Michael Bay. And okay, the first film wasn't THAT bad, but the Bay trademarks in it (blatant product placement, disgusting unfunny humor, style over substance action) was still enough to make me sick. The second film just drove me up the wall. And it still made so much money! And all my friends love it! Gah!

DIE HARD, LETHAL WEAPON, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, TRANSFORMERS any movie with the words 'FAST' and/or 'FURIOUS' in the title, etc.

Most action movies are incredibly boring and predictable; guy blows sh1t up , car chase, more explosions, blah blah blah

however I like TERMINATOR 1 & 2 :)

I love the first Die Hard. And the first Mission Impossible was pretty good. Transformers, on the other hand, was very bad. Especially the sequel. Another one that people seem to like that I don't like is Star Trek. That plot had more holes than Swiss cheese, and the CGI wasn't as great as everyone says.

OH MY I can't stand any of Julia Roberts movies! :x

I know this isn't a movie, but I can't stand Desperate Housewives.

Oh, that reminds me of another one. Juno! Freaking Juno! And it makes me sad because I actually like most of the people who were in that! I like Michael Cera, JK Simmons, Alison Janney, Ellen Page, Jason Bateman, I even like Jason Reitman's other films! But that freaking Diablo Cody script that was SOOO desperate to be clever and hip with the kids made me sick. The main character not getting an abortion I could overlook because then there'd be no movie. But I can't forgive trying to turn "blog" into slang.

And while I'm at it, Napoleon Dynamite. That movie had no plot! No plot, no conflict, and the jokes weren't funny. He'd say something like "I like your sleeves, they're real big" I'd wait for the joke...and there's no joke! That's the joke? WTH?

Most of my friends liked Spiderman 3 I thought it was the worst movie that was ever made. (I could go on for a while about how much that movie sucked)
Most of my friends also like the Saw movies. I only watched the first 30-45 minutes of the first one and can tell I hate all the movies in the series. I don't like any of the pointless gore movies.

I was suprisingly tolerant of these two films upon first viewing. Though I dont think I can watch anything with a script written by Diablo Cody ever again.

Totally agreed on Will Ferrell, although I did like Anchorman (I liked it a lot actually) that's pretty much the only movie of his I've liked. Everyone thinks Old School is the best thing ever and I just cannot get down.

Also the Transformers movies are a good call, those s**ts are unwatchable.

I agree. Napoleon Dynamite was an incredibly stupid movie (and i'm someone who usually loves dumb movies). There were only on or 2 funny parts in the whole thing and the rest of the movie bored me to tears.

I love Kevin Smith movies, Indie movies, Napoleon Dynamite and Juno!! ! i'm gonna slit my wrists cos some people don't like the same movies that i like!... :'C

I'm kidding, obviously! people are entitled to their own opinions!

however, while i'm not a big fan of superhero movies- I like Batman Begins & The Dark Knight! also Watchmen... i don't like Zack Schneider AT ALL but Watchmen wasn't bad, my friends took me to see it on opening night and I enjoyed it enough to buy the book! I freaking love the original Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons graphic novel

i can never get into Matrix films, all my friends like them, I always felt guilty and that i should like them as they have all the things i liked, conspiracy stuff, aliens, martial arts, arty visuals, gothy stuff, but they just left me cold. i saw all 3 at the movies with a friend who was mad on it and i tried to get into it. I agree that lots of people who dont like action movies like the first 2 terminators. they have an engaging story and characters (unlike matrix)
