Ever seen a movie that is almost unanimously praised, but that you personally absolutely hated? If so, which movie(s)?

For me: Monty Python and the Holy Grail and This is Spinal Tap immediately come to mind.

Aw - I quite liked the Spinal Tap one, actually. Some very amusing rock history references in there.

Anyways, I'd have to say Sex and the City. Someone in my hall persuaded me to watch it with them last year, and I couldn't follow it at all. Made absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. (Mind you, having face-blindness probably didn't help! :) )

And a TV series we have in NZ called Shortland Street. The acting was ABOMINABLE! Only saw one episode, and by about 15 minutes in, my sister and I were taking photos of each other on her cellphone pulling our eyelids up and rolling our eyes back to do zombie faces!

Star Wars and The Matrix on the other hand.....overrated pap, boring, plot holes the size of Jupiter, lame dialogue etc etc

Movies about weddings. Those movies are just a reminder that I'm too much of a rebel to get into any such relationship, and get married. I'm never giving up my last name. Munro is a good last name to have.

Sex and the City
I know it's not a movie, but I absolutely can't STAND Desperate Housewives.

High School Musical and the Twilight films. I didn't actually mind the first Twilight film when I saw it, but I'm utterly sick of it now, and the second one was complete crap.

AND MORE JOY

And I hate the Titanic. It's just a bad movie.
I didn't like Inglorious Basterds either.

Most guys hate these programmes and I've got a theory as to why: It's the voiceovers. The annoying cadence that's all arch and knowing but saying things which are just meaningless to me. It drives me nuts.

Anyway, my vote is for Grease. It's just rubbish.

I can't seem to get into the growedup movies.

If someone wishes to grab and hold my atenshiops
then they will have to put on Veggie Tales or Tigger Movie
or Tinkerbell or Care Bears or G.I. Joe or He Man
or Pingu.

The earlier Willey Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It's stupid how everyone thought one tour through a candy factory was life changing. I really hate the Grandfather in it to. He's such a lazy, selfish jerk!

Silence of the Lambs. I couldn't watch it all because it was boring.

Spider man. The girl in this seems so attention needy, and gets angry over minor problems, rather than almost getting killed. What an idiot. "You didn't come to my play! I can't believe you! You think I will date you after this?"

I can't stand anything romantic comedy! It's Complicated has gotten such great reviews, but I hate the plot! A divorced woman having an affair with her ex husband? But he's married to another woman! HOW possibly can this movie be funny? I wouldn't want my husband to be seeing his ex wife.

Yeah, I hate pretty much all romcoms too, except Adam.
