I don't think we have we have a thread like that! Could be interesting.

 Name/ Rate or Review the last Movie you watched!!

I watched "The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" yesterday. Very good movie. 8.5/10!! Quite unusual kind of love story (with Science fiction elements), and the main character (Joel-Jim Carrey) has a lot of Aspie traits... Excellent performances by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet!

I would say that is one of the best love stories ever told.
Charlie Kauffman is brilliant, you should check out his other stuff.

The last movie I watched I think was "Crash."
It was good, kept me involved, had some interesting characters.
I give it 7/10

My favourite movie of all time would be Fight Club due to excellent acting and the movies motive was fantastic.

The last movie I watched was X-Men: The Last Stand and loved it, kept me excited.

The last movie I saw was Mission: Impossible III. I liked it; it was 100% better than the second, but about 50% as good as the first. There was more action than lame dialogue, and even though it kind of made a lame attempt at a political message, and even though the ending was entirely predictable, it was still 3 out of five stars...or 6 out of 10.

Last movie I watched was the DVD for The Devil's Backbone. My quick mini-review: This Spanish film is heavy as hell. The less I say about it, the better, because a lot of the fun of it is in not knowing what will happen, as is the case for any good horror/thriller. Suffice to say that it has a great script, great acting, great direction, a great twist on the all-too-cliche "pale ghost kid with black hair" bit (which thankfully isn't the only plot element in the film), great emotional manipulation of the audience, great visuals and details...it's just a really great film. It's significantly deeper than one might think, really questioning the nature of ghosts and having its characters and objects provide possible answers. Another great thing is that this is a truly horrorific, rather than just one of those cheap thrillers that tries to make you jump with sudden sound cues or gross you out with completely gratuitus gore that exists just to gross the audience out and distract them from the nonexistant story and crappy acting. (That's not to say that "The Devil's Backbone" is not gory, though--don't watch this movie if you're sensitive to violence, because this film gets brutal in some awful ways.) What's really great, though, is that it combines some of the best elements of some Hollywood films--good visuals, a pace that keeps moving, etc.--with the best elements of foreign films, without retaining the problems many Hollywood films have--the studio's influence, an emphesis of making money rather than a quality film, a pace that's TOO fast and leaves no breathing room, etc.--or the problems many foreign films have--pretentiousness, utterly slow pacing, etc. Highly recommended to those looking for a quality horror-drama, especially those that enjoy foreign cinema.

I watch films constantly, so may I continue posting my impressions/reviews of films as I see more of them? I don't want to clog the thread, but...I see a lot of movies. Heh.

Last movie I watched was Blue Velvet. First David Lynch movie I ever saw (even though I have Eraserhead on my computer; still have to watch that) and a very disturbing one to boot. I definitely haven't seen anything like it before.

I just saw X-Men 3. Loved it. Really identified with the material :P (Especially Storm saying that there is no cure, because it's not a disease)

It started off good, but seemed to not go too well later on. There are several threads about this movie already though so I won't get too much into it.

I just saw "American Splendor" (starring paul giamotti), it's about the underground comics writer Harvey Pekar. It's a decent movie, not much happens in it though.

Last night I saw "The Big One", a Michael Moore movie from '95. I'd give it a thumbs up because it was a lot more cohesive than his other movies that I've seen, I could identify with it as an unemployed person  (it mostly concerns layoffs from large corporations), and parts were hilarious...his conversation with the CEO of Nike is priceless.

I watched Walk the Line on DVD the other day. I watched it twice. It's a great movie, but the songs stick in your head so hard that I was singing them for 3 days afterwards. I'd watch it again though.

Last movie i watched was this morning and it was Monster. Hmmm, I guess I should put it at an 8.5/10. It's a very powerful movie, but it's sort of weird/strange/etc. Don't know how to describe the movie. But, I liked it because I am usually into those based on true stories.

I just watched "Immortal" last night. It was in English even though it was a French film. And that's the least strange thing about it.

This movie definately isn't everybody's thing, but its consistant eye candy, visual symbolism, fascinating story and setting, Egyptian mythology, and sense that there's more to it than just the surface make this a potential new favorite of mine. Basically, the god Horus has only a week to live for some reason, and the only way he can survive is to impregnate a particular woman--and those uber rare women with the power to procreate with gods. Naturally it gets more complex than that as it goes along, and don't expect to make sense of everything at the time that you see it. Still, if you love special effects, really surreal sci-fi, or mythology, then I recommend renting this if you can find it. Beware, though--it's beyond bizarre. For example, while some of the cast is indeed live action (against CG backgrounds), the "sytnetic humans" (who I don't think even have sex) are CG, and make up most of the supporting cast in the film--and this is just what I've inferred from the film. There's a lot that isn't explicitly stated. Now if only I could rent an imported "Casshern" DVD from Japan, 'cus I really want to see it but they still haven't released it in the states on DVD or in theaters, and I don't buy films I haven't seen...especially not from overseas.

Watched "Snatch" last night. I liked it a lot. Very funny, a lot of great characters, interesting story, fast pace, etc. And I usually really dislike anything to do with heists, so...yeah. Don't really want to say more.
