Probably Neon Genesis Evangelion, or maybe Dragonball. If I was to restrict it to American cartoons, it would be much more difficult. It would probably have to be Loony Toons in that case, the older ones.

Tom and Jerry, no doubt about it. I still watch it every Tuesday and Thursday at 1.

Futurama. Excellent, clever science fiction comedy, and very unique. Manages to be both intelligent and hilarious and full uf odd caracters and concepts, without imitating Red Dwarf, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, or any other great sci-fi-com that came before it. Just a pleasure to watch. Series as well as movies.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 (seasons 1-4, the rest was more or less rubbish - the show died when it started deviating from the comics too much), Cowboy Bebop and Darkwing Duck get honorable mentions for very different reasons. The latter because you could tell the show's writers were just trying to entertain themselves and eachother, not really bothering to focus on the demographic. I loved it as a kid, and I still enjoy it. Oh, and I almost forgot the very short-lived "Clerks" cartoon, which was just really funny and should have went much longer than six episodes. Oh, and The Simpsons was really good for a few seasons after it found itself and before it lost itself.

I'm probably leaving out something brilliant. Forgive me, I'm in the process of falling asleep.

Exo-Squad (top of all my lists), Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Chip'n'Dales Rescue Rangers, Shirt Tails, TMNT (the originals from the 90s), BattleTech (shame it only lasted 1 season), GI Joe (from the 80s and early 90s, but not the "Extreme" series), Robotech, Transformers (80s to current, all except the version with Skybite . . . was lame), The Real Ghostbusters, Reboot (cant forget this oldie :) ), Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Looney Tune Adventures, Animaniacs, Dragonball/DBZ (was into it for a while, but it got old quick for me), Medabots . . .

Probably others, but its late at night right now so i cant remember everything . . . ><

Most particularly, this Little Lulu cartoon (back when they showed really old cartoons on the kids' afternoon shows) that featured her and a companion in some kind of roller-coaster or mine train going down through hell, being menaced by devils with pitchforks, etc. At least I'm pretty sure it was Little Lulu. Used to be able to watch some pretty bizarre stuff after school back then, when I can find them now on YouTube it makes me wonder what kind of drugs they were on.

Japanese: Hellsing. It had a very profound impact on me during the 3 years I obsessed over it. I was attracted to the "dark" atmosphere of the story and the anti-heroic, even evil characters. It was the very first taste I'd ever had of a story that wasn't wholesome and overtly cheerful, and I wanted more. It therefore set the tone for all of my subsequent (current) interests. I obsessed over Trinity Blood too, but truth be told, I only liked it because of the high potential it had for crossover pairings with the cast of Hellsing. I am a huge crossover pairing junkie.

American: Balto. It was one of my earliest obsessions, and my longest running one to date: 6 years! I strongly identified with Balto being the outcast, and I greatly admired him for his heroics. He was also notable for being my very first imaginary friend. Sometimes when I'm feeling particularly nostalgic, I toy with the idea of buying the DVDs. I might just do that one day when I have some extra cash to spare. :)
