Which shows on MTV make you angry and which shows are alright just anything about the shows that aren't music.

The shows that Make me Angry are the Hills, Jersey Shore and Jackass

And the the shows that I do like though are True Life, Made, Gs to Gents, and the Real World

Not that Im interested in either music or MTV but this is something I have wondered about for years. Because 13 years ago I was a great fan of MTV and used to record videos from there but nowadays I just wonder: Where the heck did the music go? And if the music is totally gone, then why the heck call it MTV?!

"Give up, just quit, because in this life, you can't win. Yeah, you can try, but in the end you're just gonna lose, big time, because the world is run by the Man. The Man, oh, you don't know the Man. He's everywhere. In the White House... down the hall... Ms. Mullins, she's the Man. And the Man ruined the ozone, he's burning down the Amazon, and he kidnapped Shamu and put her in a chlorine tank! And there used to be a way to stick it to the Man. It was called rock 'n roll, but guess what, oh no, the Man ruined that, too, with a little thing called MTV! "

people's attention spans couldn't handle a 3-minute video...either that, or they couldn't fit on phone screens...;)

Someone regurgitated it out after eating a colourful flyer for a successful, smoothly operated, highly profitable event highlighting the use of technical gizmoship and lack of talent actuality but then having their market-trained eye catch sight of yet another even better flyer, even though the second flyer was pretty much the same as the first except it had the endorsement of a celebrity who makes their living through similar market strategy.

MTV had music? :P

Well, MTV started going downhill in the 90s when it tried to have more than just music videos. Which isn't to say that the shows were bad, since some were great. You had Beavis and Butt-Head, Daria, Liquid Television, The Maxx. But then, that didn't really matter much to MTV anymore, where they stopped airing things like Headbanger's ball, and replaced it with TRL, where we had nothing but crap pop music videos (Made even more annoying when they had some overtly enthusiastic teen pop up in the corner explaining why he/she requested the video, as if anyone cared.), and as time went on, even that was dropped in the place of shows like Super Sweet 16, Jersey Shore, and the like that only appeals to shallow, vapid teens.

For awhile, I though VH1 would be redeemable, since they actually had music, but of course, they discarded all of that and turn the entire station into a celebrity butt-kissing channel.

It's a sad state of affairs really.

I hate modern-day MTV. They should just rename it TV and leave it at there. There's virtually nothing musical on.

On a related note, on proper music channels, they play a video and TELL YOU WHICH ONE IS COMING NEXT, ruining the surprise.

All forms of music television have gone downhill, but ABMTV (Anything But Music Television) is by far the worst offender.

Can't have a discussion about MTV without this old tune from Dire Straits

Frankly, MTV went down the tube when the started the ROCK THE VOTE campaign. From that point forward, MTV became less about music and more about politicizing the youth in America to an agenda. Their programming seems to follow that idea.

Music Videos on MTV started to get killed off in 1992 when The Real World started to air as that was the first non-musical MTV show that was a very big success. I surprised nobody has come out with a song "MTV Killed The Video Star", as is basically MTV has done.

This channel is part of my version of the Ten Commandments:

Thou shall not watch MTV, for it contains shows that will melt your brain.

IMO, MTV hasn't had a good show since Beavis & Butthead.

I personally think that Daria was better.
