I'd throw my vote for Elton John, Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Oscar Wilde.

The (moderately famous) British autistic savant Daniel Tammet is (apparently) gay.
But he is primarily famous for being an autistic savant rather than being famous for anything else, so perhaps that's not the sort of answer you are looking for.

Are all these names that people put forward definite. I know Elton John is gay but didn't know he was Aspie.

Ok, I think it's easy to get carried away with retrospective diagnoses, but here is another one if people are interested: Alan Turing, the British mathematician.

He was definitely gay, but a few people have said he might have had Aspergers Syndrome.

Eg, the Irish Journal of Psychological Medicine: see www.ijpm.org/content/pdf/175/Turing.pdf

Also see http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=SZ-p ... er&f=false

Daniel Tammet is the only name of the above to be both confirmed gay and an aspie. Most other cases are highly speculative.
One with perhaps the most compelling evidence would be the case of Ludwig Wittgenstein, 20th century Austrian philosopher who was certainly gay and likely on the autistic spectrum.
Interesting that both are considered to be extremely intelligent in the very specific field epistemology and the introspection of human thought.

I am actually writing a report on the link between these two concepts for my gay and lesbian studies class, focussing on both actually possible connections, such as Tammet and Wittgenstein; and media portrayals, such the two latest adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Shelock Holmes series.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brent_Ridge

I think that anyone who's watched The Fabulous Beekman Boys, especially S01E08, would agree that Brent is probably autistic.
