So does anyone know about the film "My Name is Khan"? From India, really popular, about Asperger's. Is it out on DVD?

Also, "Mary and Max" directed by Adam Elliot. Stop motion animation, Max has Asperger's.

I have been watching several autism themed films. Occaisionally I post reviews.

For example, we watched "Nell", starring Jodie Foster. I liked it enough to recommend it.

"Molly" starring Elizabeth Shue...not so good film. Can't recommend.

Thanks.

I watched "Adam."
I can't say I would recommend it, they made it seem like we don't have emotions or something.
I'm not a robot I can feel... I'm just not good at showing it.

I watched Nell in a sociology class. While they did mention ASD in the movie, she was a feral child and not autistic.

I saw "Mary and Max" today...the Adam Elliot movie. Brilliant animation. Very good about Asperger's. By far one of the best aspie films I have seen. There are clips of it on youtube.

I agree. GREAT movie and great depiction of AS.

Are there any good film examples of females with AS? Or is this too much to ask?

Well, that depends on how "high functioning" you want the protagonist to be.

I liked "Snowcake" starring Sigourney Weaver. Canadian film, so you didn't get a lot of "Hollywood" crap.

I can also recommend "Chocolate", from Thailand. With subtitles. Young girl kick ass martial arts film. Not a lot of dialogue for her but still a fun film and well made.

I'll keep my eyes open for girl films. Thanks for your post.

Better yet, make a film yourself! : ) I would love to see a good film with a girl aspie leading role. So far I haven't so I don't have anything to suggest.

I still haven't figured out these emoticon things *smiley face*

That's a good idea but who has the money?

Actually, I'm thinking of writing a book with an Aspie girl character...
