I was surprised that this movie was done in stop-motion. :)

This movie is wonderful. Loved the story, characters, music, and animation style. I've watched it 3 times in a week. DVD is out now - everyone should go get it.

My mom got the DVD from the library. The movie was pretty good, but no special features.

When I first saw the trailer I thought... Oh great, they are butchuring (spelling mistake...) my favourite childhood book. I borrowed it from the library when it came out on DVD and I was surprised. It was actually REALLY good and I liked the stop motion especially. Ok so it didn't follow the book perfectly but it kept enough of the original story.

I remember my 4th grade teacher reading us the book. I assume this is what it was. The over use of yellowish tones in the preview make me not want to see it. Would it have killed them to use other colors? I can't stand movies and cartoons that are limiting in certian colors but why yellow out of all colors?

Ash resonated with me more than any fictional character in a long time. He's socially awkward, has repetitive physical tics, and has obsessive interests. Hmm, where have I heard that before? To have everyone tell you you're "different," and not understand why, is a truly hard thing, and I genuinely empathized with him. He's all kinds of awesome. Seriously, go see the movie.
