I really, really, really, really hate this.

I think everything about it looks bad. I love Pokemon. I love Pokemon so much, it is a huge special interest of mine, something I love dearly. So to see this... it makes me very upset. It reminds me of the 1980s garbage pail kids movie, that's how horrible it looks. I hate it so much. Also Pikachu's voice....no. Just dreadful. No super PokeFan would support this monstrosity!! !!

I was not feeling good confident about it when I heard the rumours about the movie in the past. Some of my immediate reactions to seeing how some of the CG live action Pokémon look, is kind of creepy, especially some images. But in practice, when things moved in the trailer, I am actually feeling pretty good about this. I don't think I ever really considered the idea of a fluffy Pikachu, but he looks great, even Ryan Reynolds did not feel too bad.

Yeah, Mr. Mime, especially, looks creepy, but I the designs were needed to make it feel like the Pokémon is actually there. If you had to think about it, the Pokémon that could be creepiest to suddenly see life like, were probably going to be psychic, fairy (Jigglypuff) and Human-Like (Uncanny valley), and Mr. Mime is actually all three. It may take some getting used to, but I don't think it is a dead end.

So a super Pokefan here, and I am feeling good about it, at least from the first trailer.

Like many, I have never felt so much excitement about a movie based off of a video game given that the majority of video game-based movies were poorly received and/or flopped at the box office.

As for how Pikachu looks and talks, he IMO, resembles Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy.
