I don't know if there's anything to the research or not, but it sure is cool if there is!

The logic does sound good. And I do not remember ever having a nightmare (besides the time I thought I woke up and gollum attacked me trying to get my Ipad)

i actually might think there is something to this. Recently I got an interest in the Silent Hill series and played my first game of the franchise, Well after getting a bit too involved I had kind of a nightmare, but I feel like I was actually pretty self aware and I fought back.

I probably don't rememberr most of what I dream, but if I remember properly I think I might have also had times in the past I have kept kicking ass. Including useing weapons I am familiar with.

There are some other dreams I have had effected by gaming, one was where I feel like I am actually playing it, like I felt like I was actually moving and in a Podracer from the star wars franchise, that fel really weird, like it was real.

I remember having video game related nightmares as a child and it was because in the dream the game's visuals had changed and were diffrent.

I'm not sure why, but that does sound creepy.
