Looking around various points on the interwebs this show has fairly favorable reviews...

So, to those who have seen it, especially BSG fans, is it worth seeing?

Should I bump season 1 to the top of my netflix queue?

Should I just get to it when it get to it?

Or, should I not even waste my time?

I am liking it so far, it is a bit more grittier then BSG, not to sure when season 2 starts, I hate having to wait a long time between seasons

I really enjoyed it too. So far they are only half way through Season 1. There has been a long gap since episode 9, but it starts again in October.

I quite identified with Zoe(A) being stuck in the cylon body. I feel kind of the same way sometimes. At one moment thinking 'see me, notice me, I'm actually alive in here' but at the same time only carrying on with my normal behaviour without any deeper connection to anyone. Just act the part for as long as it takes and hope people will then leave you alone.

Also think the technology like the holobands and touch-paper is really cool. I'd love to be able to live in v-world, be anyone, do anything with no consequences. Actually given the choice I'd probably stay there all the time, but so far SecondLife doesn't quite come close to the full experience.

My thoughts exactly, I wish SL could be like that, bloody lag and crappy viewer 2.0

Caprica has some interesting scenes and ideas, but it was too much like -The Matrix-. I like things that happen in real space, not cyber space.

Official word from producer Jane Espenson (via her Twitter feed) is that the back half of season 1 will start airing in late October. Apparently, it's all part of the Plan...

I didn't expect much from it, so I was honestly surprised. There's an actual story in there! It's definitely on the "darker and edgier" trope of things (think Angel to BSG's Buffy, or Torchwood to BSG's Doctor Who), but it's actually quite good indeed. If you liked BSG, and if you liked the "feel" of Razor, Caprica is a very good one to watch.

...speaking of religion and BSG... :)

Lt. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace died. What came back was a messenger of God (sorry, I know He doesn't like to be called that) - an "angel", if you will, sent to help join the Fleet and the rebel Cylons, then guide them first to Earth (so they could learn a lesson about what happens when they work against each other), then to a world they could live together on. (Sadly, looks like most of the Cylons, except the Eight known as Lt. Sharon "Athena" Agathon, elected to stay out in space, and try to talk their brethren around. However, her daughter Hera turned out to be "Mitochondrial Eve", so it's all good, I guess...)

Yep, Kara died and God sent her back as Aurora, Angel of the dawn...

Guess somebody wasn't paying attention! :P

Since I love BSG, religion, and politics, I think I'll give Caprica a try.

Also, Jane Espenson was one of the better writers on BSG--much more focused and disciplined than Ron Moore.

I'm sure Caprica is better for her efforts.

I liked it at first, but started to get really irritated at the (lack of) acting ability by virtually every teenager in the cast. My wife's niece does youth community theater and I would pick anyone I've seen in any of the plays I've gone to over any teenager in the cast. Where did they find this cast? Raiding Hot Topic or something?

Its just painful, the same vapid expression and monotone voice in scene after scene. Got to the point where I had DVR'd a bunch of episodes but could not bring myself to watch them.
