I've seen Temple Grandin, Adam, and Rainman. Now I'm in the beginning of Mozart And The Whale, and I wanna know who's seen it?
So far I like it, and I wish I could find people like Isabelle who likes to listen to me rant about my obsessions.

I did not like Mozart and the Whale, but I'm glad you are watching it and hope you enjoy it. Please remember it is a movie. To get a more balanced picture, please read the book by Jerry Newport and Mary Meinel Newport, the husband and wife that originally inspired the movie. It is a good book to read.

Like you, I am watching the various autism-themed films. Try "Chocolate" and "Ben X". They are good...foreign films so you have to be comfortable with subtitles.

What that about the Chocolate movie. I can only find a martial arts film?

I did not like it much either, it was too sexual and vulgar.I like Adam and Temple Grandin better.

Even though the movie was far from perfect, I rather liked Mozart And The Whale.
As I said, the film wasn't close to being perfect. I thought the female lead was suffering from undiagnosed borderline personality disorder, and that most of the characters allegedly with Asperger's were more low functioning autistics. And even those who fit more into the Asperger's classification tended to have exaggerated symptoms.
But, I really liked how Josh Hartnet stepped out of his usual roles to play a character who is noticeably socially impaired. I also liked how the movie was filmed and set in Spokane, WA., which is neighboring my own Spokane Valley, so I got to view sites I see all the time when I watched the movie. But I really liked how the socially out of step Josh Hartnet gets the girl at the end, even though she's nuts. I guess I am just an old softy, after all.

My girlfriend seemed to like it. I haven't seen it yet (and probably won't for quite a while).

It's good, but very stereotypical, and, from what I've read, very little like the actual events it's meant to be based on.

Isabelle sort of reminded me of me.
But I agree, a lot of the people at the "meetings" seemed pretty stereotyped and low functioning.

I enjoyed BenX. Adam was okay, I think that character was an okay portrayal, but the plot I found to be very boring!

Some other ones:
My name is Khan (this character is a big stereotype tho)- its a cute story
Mary and Max- VERY GOOD claymation!
Sommersault- about a very socially awkward immature young woman who doesn't understand social relationships
The girl with the dragon tattoo- Doesn't actually say she has AS, but she's supposed to, at least the film critics say so. Freaky watching that, because I had peircings and hair like that a few years ago, and my walking/mannerisms were similar.

I have the movie and seen it. I think it was stereotyped because of savant syndrome and they made everyone different on the spectrum. Isabel was obviously the mildest. I would say she had a mild case of it.

As it's said, fiction is more interesting than fact.

And I do agree on the movie stereotyping people with ASDs.

It's a good movie though, but not great.

I thought it was a really cute love story... except the Aspergers symptoms were exaggerated...

I related a lot to Isabelle.
