Anyone have any thoughts about Sheldon Cooper's new girlfriend on the season opener of The Big Bang Theory?
I know she has a distinctive name - - which I've promptly forgotten.

amy farrah fowler....she has a facebook page. i really like aff and hope she will be a continuing part of bbt. and yes, she and sheldon need to have a baby.

I could be wrong, but I believe she was "Blossom" a long time ago.

Well actually she is not a new girlfriend, as he did not have any before (unless we count Ramona Nowitzki and I don't think we should - she was more like a personal trainer or something) and at the opening of season 2 Sheldon admits he and Amy have been ''communicating on a daily basis'' for four months already.

For all I know (and it is not a secret since it's on the Internet) Amy is not going to be a regular character as she and Sheldon are about to break up in the episode after next. Pity, I liked her character.

How did the producers of BBT manage to get the former "Blossom" on the show?

Beside, I don't recall her doing a lot since Blossom ended.

Apparently, Mayim Bialik has a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA (her doctoral dissertation was on Prader-Willi Syndrome), but has decided to continue acting and doing voice work. And like her character on Big Bang Theory, she's a vegan.

My parents and I were watching BBT last night, and I remember Mom commenting on how Sheldon and Amy's relationship was similar to the one between myself and Suiseiten. I laughed it off, but she does kinda have a point *squirm*
