I'm 24 years old and I love animation, both old and new. But sometimes I feel like it maybe frowned upon. I'm OK with watching toons like Pokemon, Transformers and Ninja Turtles because they were from my childhood. But some of the recent cartoons I really like as well such as Avatar The Last Airbender, which isn't really recent but I think I was like 19 or 20 when it was on for me and I totally loved it. Another cartoon I like is Star Wars the Clone Wars. It's recent and I watch it and a tiny bit of me thinks I shouldn't but it is Star Wars and everyone loves it right. I have both shows on DVD. Also the new Avengers cartoon is starting to look good but I hope no one thinks it's childish to watch this because it is on Disney XD after all. But these characters are Marvel and adults love that stuff and there is the future movie to consider. So I was wondering if anyone feels the same.

I am very interested in animation as a basic communication tool for people with autism. Of course it appeals to us-- it simplifies everything and emphasizes continuity. It removes many of the distractions that can confuse us.

I think you'll find that many Aspies share this special interest, enough that it might be a good way for you to reach out and make friends. It sounds like you have good taste, too.

I don't think it's childish at all :) I'm 23 and love cartoons! My favourites are Recess (Disney channel, know almost all the episodes by heart!) and The Worst Witch (CITV- not technically a cartoon but it's still a kids' show, as is Tracy Beaker). I also own DVDs for all of them, lol. I love any Disney cartoon!

I always saw animation as a media of storytelling, never a genere.

I'm greatful but the other thing I mean is, is it OK for a 24 year old to watch and like recently new made cartoons such as Star Wars the Clone Wars and The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes :?: Also is it weird that I may be looking foward to watching new upcoming cartoons such as Young Justice, Avatar The Legend of Korra and the Untitled Spider-man cartoon :?:

You say you work in a primary school which means you work with children who are the target audience for cartoons. But what I wanna know is are there any people out there who do not have children, not work with them and are close to the age of 24 or older and like old, new and upcoming cartoons both movies and tv shows. Also I love Disney films as well but I also like to go to the cinema to see non disney animated movies like Dreamworks. I'm actually looking forward to the new Kung Fu Panda movie.

I'm 23 with no plans of having children and Lion King is my special intrest. I'm even watching an Arthur eppisode on You Tube right now as I type this. My favorite movies were always animated but the story line always involved talking animals.

I watched them before working with children- that's one of the reason I like working there so much! I find it way easier to relate to the kids than the teachers, lol. Dreamworks are great too, I loved Kung Fu Panda and Shrek. I did my undergrad dissertations on The Little Mermaid and Harry Potter, and also wrote an essay on Disney's Enchanted.

But is it ok for a 24 year old to like recent cartoons. Both television and movies. And how about shows that do not yet exist such as Young Justice.

I am 20, I quite enjoy cartoons, didn't really stop watching them from when I was a kid, I still enjoy watching animated films like The Emperor's New Groove is one of my favourite movies, and I recently got quite excited to watch movies like Toy Story 3 and Despicable Me. I tend to have awefull sleeping paterns so most standard cartoons I watch on tv now saterday morning, or things I watch at random intervals with possibly morning, and I have shifted a lot of my viewing to anime, I guess it is technichly cartoons and can have lots of different themes.

I'm 22, and a big fan of cartoons. Currently looking forward to Megamind and also new Kungfu panda, but I also still sometimes watch some dreamworks or disney classics, also I love studio Ghibli. Cartoons kind of always made me feel good and happy, calmed down if I was stressed.

For quite some time as an excuse for watching cartoons I could use my little relatives, I have little sister and two cousins all about same age, so I always could find someone to go to cinema with. But now, when they are about 15, they are not interested anymore, but I still regularly watch cartoons.

I still watch some classic cartoons on Dvd and tv, but I also watch some recent toons such as Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes and Avatar. Does anyone else my age watch those type of toons and does anyone think it's wierd for me to be looking forward to upcoming toons such as Young Justice and Spider-Man.

I am a big fan of animated Disney films and of 1990s Cartoon Network. :)
