Any of you older folks ever watch Cheers? I'd seen a few reruns here or there on late night tv, so I started renting the seasons on netflix...I can't decide who's my favorite character. The funniest episode I've seen so far is the one where Lilith writes a book about good women dating bad men..she's on a local tv show and brings Sam and Frasier with her...so then all the women like Sam because he's a bad boy...he's in the bar with the women after and one of them says "Do something bad" and he says "No" she says "Why" he says "Because you told me to."

What's funny is my younger brother works retail and is like Sam at his workplace...big flirt, but not a jerk about it.

How much older do I have to be? I'm 26 but I love Cheers. I prefer the older episodes with Diane, even though I was too young to have seen them when they were new. I remember the huge deal that was made when the show went off the air. When I was about 13 or 14 I took my parents' tiny emergency TV and hid it under my bed, and I would try to stay up until 1 AM when the Cheers reruns came on.

It's nearly impossible to pick a single favorite character.

If I had to pick a favorite character, Sam's an obvious choice, but I like Lilith and Cliff. The character I hate, and I suppose she's not supposed to be likeable, is Rebecca...she just wants rich abusive men and is uptight as hell. I liked Diane better from what I've seen.

I'm an older folk but I've only watched Cheers in syndication. The early episodes with Diane are my preference, but overall it's a great show that led to another great show, Frasier.

As an old fart, I used watch Cheers religiously when it was on. I think my favorite character was Norm. Even though if it were real life, Norm's problem drinking would be recognized as ruining his life. Still, Norm was funny and cool - an inspiration for us fat guys everywhere.
I'm pretty certain Cliff was an Aspie. I wish that had been recognized by the writers, so he could have been portrayed in a more positive light like Sheldon Cooper (I don't buy that crap that the writers of BBT didn't intend him to have Asperger's), instead of just being self centered and annoying, and socially clueless.

I'm not older, but I've seen most of the episodes in syndication. It's a good show. I think my favorite was the one where Carla's mother threatened to disown her unless she renamed one of her sons with the first name of her father and maiden name of her mother, according to a family tradition-- and just by unhappy coincidence, the proposed name worked out to be "Benito Mussolini". XD

I used to watch Cheers all the time. It was one of my favourite shows. I like the arguments that took place between Sam and Dianne. I also liked Cliff and Carla. Norm was also funny.

Those were the good old days.

I really like Cheers, and I'm very young!
My favorite character is Lilith, and my least favorite character is probably Rebecca (because she always complaining about her love life) or Carla because she is just plain mean sometimes (but I guess that's what makes her funny) - I like Carla sometimes though.
"Rat Girl" is my favorite episode or "The Day Norm Came For Dinner" (I don't remember if that's the title, but it's something similar), I like most of the Lilith/Frasier episodes though, that said I think there's also many funny episodes without them.
