I have three kids, so most likely I will go see it... but I actually want to see it myself! I feel like a minority in that I do like computer animation, but of course like any animation, there's standards. A lousy plot in 3-D would be lousy in 2-D or live action. Crummy animation happens in all styles. And this one looks particularly slick and well-done as far as the visuals go, and the plot... not actually sure what it is at this point! Looks like they've pulled a Princess and the Frog here and that was pretty good. My husband said they laid on the "New Orleans" a little thick (I think he thought they were jumping on the bandwagon what with New Orleans struggling to get back to business as usual) but there really is no way to set it in New Orleans and not lay it on thick. But I digress.
It looks good, yes.
The animation for the film is based on the 18th-century painting entitled
The Swing (<-Link), which I think is a very lovely piece of art.
Rapunzel the character is very lovely and well-animated. I wish they'd have stuck with the original title, though. "Tangled" just sounds a little silly to me. Either way, I really hope that the film does well. So far, it seems to be doing well with critics (it's holding an 88% approval rating as we speak).
