the whole "remake" thing is just a misinterpretation of the first 5 minutes. the studio switched from new line cinema to paramount pictures. when sam raimi tried to get the rights to use footage from the first film, new line cinema said no. so rami "remade" the first 5 minutes to catch viewers up with the plot. evil dead 2 is a sequel. sorry

I agree, The Evil Dead was a superior movie to II. Personally, I'm an Army Of Darkness guy.
