People parody about how he couldn't stop them but then flew fast enough to go backwards in time. :lol:

Of course, you do have to consider that Superman's powers are exercises of his will. After Lois dies, his will to do something to change things pushed him to go that fast. Obviously stopping two nukes didn't motivate him as much as his feelings for Lois.
