Been watching this show for over a year now and its dawned on me that some of the charachters dispay mental conditions/traits of it. Dennis, Dee, Frank, Barbara all display narssistic personality disorder traits, Charlie could be autistic or have Aspergers, Charlies mom is OCD and has co-dependancy. I forget the others but just thought that was interesting!

Charlie collects garbage and has weird rituals he makes Frank take part in. I think Charlie has Aspergers as well like when he ignores how the Waitress doesn't want to have anything to do with him and how he has the note book that details the Waitresses daily habits and where abouts.

The characters certainly aren't all "normal", but they're just supposed to be funny. It's a really hilarious show.

Charlie is definitely my favorite character. I also think it is amazing that Charlie and the waitress are actually married in real life, and that Mac and Dee are married too. Also, because of Danny DeVito's schedule, they film stuff in a totally bizarre sequence. I think they shot all of his scenes in 2 weeks for season 2.

The show is totally funny to me, but all of the fighting and yelling can make me tense sometimes if I watch it too much.

I thought Charlie had aspergers or was possibly supposed to be autistic. HE doesnt get social rules and is socially retarted...but then again they all are so some extent

Dennis has become quite the sociopath as the show continues to progress.

My favorite main character on the show is Charlie despite the fact that he seems to become stupider as the season progress. It must be all the glue he's huffing.

I was introduced to this show last year by a friend who has a bunch of it on DVD. I only saw a few episodes but I was in tears from laughing so hard.

I agree. The episode where they buy a boat is the prime example of Dennis becoming a sociopath. "Its the implication of something going wrong for the girls that will scare them...." just made me laugh. ALl the charachters seem like cookie cutter definitions of personality disorders

Seems most of us are agreed here. Dennis is a sociopath (the secret compartment in his 4wd with weird tools and implements?) and Charlie may be on the spectrum! :D

I absolutely loved the time Frank was hiding in a couch in order to spy on his old co-workers. Then, nearly dying of heat exhaustion, he desperately tries to claw his way out, with the outline of his face pressed against the couch's leather. I can't do it justice - but the scene left me in stitches.
I really want to see the older episode where some of the characters eat what they think is human flesh, and succumb to Wendigo psychosis - that is, insatiable desire to eat human meat!

Haha, I loved that one! My favorite scene with Frank is the one where he sets up his own sweat shop and fills it with immigrants. Towards the end of the episode, it shows all of the workers sewing and basically acting terrified of Frank, and he has Nazi war propaganda playing on the loudspeaker with "Ride of the Valkyres" in the background...it is one of the funniest T.V. show scenes I've seen in a long time.
