OK, I know that the 2012 movie version of The Lorax has been out for a few months now, but I went to see it at the dollar theater with my younger half - sisters and their friends last week and finally noticed this:

In the movie, Zac Efron's character has a crush on Taylor Swift's character, who happen to be named "Ted" and "Audrey" respectively. I am pretty sure that this a reference to Dr. Seuss (whose real name was Theodore "Ted" Geisel) and his second wife Audrey, whom he married in the 1960s. It tells all about it in the biography "The Seuss, The Whole Seuss, and Nothing But the Seuss," which I highly recommend. :D

On a side note, I think it would be pretty cool if they made little Once - ler dolls....with all the fangirls that popped up after the movie came out, they'd make a killing with dolls.

I haven't seen the film yet, but that sounds like a lovely reference. :D I've often thought about what Dr. Seuss would think of these films of his books and I'm sure that he would think that's a sweet reference.

P.S I TOTALLY AGREE with your signature! Love Sterling Holloway's voice. And I love the film "Best Exotic Marigold Hotel."

Thanks...I've always loved Sterling Holloway's voice (one of the only things that can soothe me) and I love that quote from TBEMH...it makes me feel hopeful for things to come.

That is a pretty sweet reference.

I agree that they should make Once-ler dolls. The fangirls were all over deviantArt for awhile after the movie first came out. They were shipping him with everybody. xD (Not that I have room to talk - I ship the Johnny Depp version of the Mad Hatter with just about everyone too).
