It'd be frightfully awesome to see a horror movie that actually scares me.

A good Forgotten Realms-type movie with everything but the One Ring. (Even LOTR gets tiring after a while.)

Adrian Mole would be cool to see but it'd have to be VERY carefully made - especially the acting.

I'd like to see a movie where the villain wins.

Failing that, anything with ninjas. REAL ninjas, not those 'ninja' movies where the ninjas don't wear masks. I want ninjas who keep their identities secret for THE ENTIRE FILM.
Real Ninjas that pop up out of nowhere, kick a lot of ass, and then disappear again. They shouldn't be involved in any sort of relationship or plot or anything, they're just there to kick ass and look cool.

And lots of explosions helps too.

I always look for movies with either odd characters or unusual settings, and maybe a stylized fight scene or two somewhere in said film.
Introspective philosophy isn't necessarily a must for me, but it does add a lot to a film. Said film must also have -lots of pretty colors and shiny metal objects- and an awesome soundtrack.
Film in question must also have some sort of strong emotional impact on me, whether it makes me feel depressed, happy, or confused. A film that leaves me cold isn't something I'm really eager to see.
That's what I look for to a large extent in a film, and most certainly hope to see one that appeals to me in at least three of those regards sometime soon.

I'd like to see the Russian vampire movie "DayWatch" (sequel to "NightWatch") and the Japanese live-action "Casshern" film finally get North American release dates, myself....

I'd try to list all I'd like in a film but I pay too much attention to what geeky properties are coming out in the next few years for me to start listing films I know won't come out.

How about something with an original premise? In other words, NOT based on a TV show and NOT a sequel. And definitely not a sequel of a movie based on a TV show.

A three hour long Silmarillion film, all done in the style of the narrative at the start of Fellowship of the Ring.

A bit optimistic perhaps.

Something that takes a concept that is highly derivative, but manages to make it awesome anyways somehow.

As an example, a romantic comedy.

I have serious doubts about if anyone could make a good romantic comedy.

I guess you're not going to like Friends III: Chandler's Revenge, then, huh?
