I saw this musical the other night. Its good. But I can see why some people don't like it. The sets, costumes, wire work are all top nothch, as are the songs and acting. When I saw it there were no delays due to wires getting stuck, ect..
I think a big part of the issue is they made the sets, costumes look like a comic. Everything has a drawn look to it. Plus during some of the fights they show words like BAM POW BAMMF like they did in the old 60s Batman TV show. So the style of the show won't appeal to everyone.
IMO if you like comics and Spider Man you will like the show. But they do change something major in the orgin story. The show is set to close in a little while for major rewrite and set changes. So that may be one of the things they do change.
