So, I've finally decided to take a recent idea of mine for a short (thirteen episodes, each only about seven to ten minutes long; maybe up to fifteen) web series and start to seriously work on it, with the intent of actually producing it in the near future.

I've already got most of the series arc planned out, and I'm currently working on the treatment for the pilot episode this week. I'm hoping to be done with that and moving on to the pilot script sometime next week, I think. After that, I'll be getting into the storyboarding for the episode. Unfortunately, because of semi-imminent relocation, I'm going to have to hold off on doing any location scouting and gathering up a cast and crew, as I'm not going to have access to the same locations and people that I do right now in a couple of months.

Basically, I'm really trying to get everything I can of the pre-production for the pilot episode done before I leave, so I can get right to work on production once everything settles down again out on the other end. I'm finally trying in earnest to get one of my ideas out to the world in a timely and accessible fashion, and so far, it's going according to plan.

If the pilot episode is well-enough received, I'll probably go ahead with producing the rest of the series, but we'll see.

For anyone who's curious about the series, I'll give you a really short rundown of it. It's a science-fantasy series with Gothic influences, centering around the trials and tribulations of a powerful mage and a former super-soldier, who are being pulled into a conflict that could decide the fate of their world. There's a whole lot more to it,b ut I won't bore you with it, as most people here seem to dismiss more info about stories members have come up with as 'oh boy, more mindless rambling'.

Good luck!

I hope you'll post links to it when you've got the first episode finished. Also, it would be interesting if you post some of your experiences in making the series.

Thanks for the encouragement. :)

I'm planning on documenting a lot of it, for sure; probably releasing concept art, storyboards, and behind-the-scenes footage and photos throughout the process and after release. I'll be sure to post links when there's something to show. But it's going to be a while, though. Probably won't see the official release or even a trailer for it until sometime early next calendar year, I'm estimating.

It's a long, hard road out of development hell, but I'm determined to make it happen this time with this series. 8)
