It's a figure of speech--when an actor's role in a film is the big selling point (i.e. Jim Carrey in a Jim Carrey movie), then that film is sometimes called a "vehicle" for that actor.
Anyway...yeah, they are making a new Carrey-less "Ace Ventura" movie, apparently about Ace's son. More similarities to "Son of the Mask" that one might think. Maybe they'll even bring in the director of "Cats & Dogs" again. Hollywood executives can be so tasteless sometimes....
Personally I like Jim Carrey's style of comedy quite a bit, but I do prefer his serious roles just because I prefer serious movies. Heh.
