I just saw this. I'm sad to hear he died. The BBC series starring Jeremy Brett was a favorite of mine.

Same -- for me he will be the quintensential "Watson" -- that said, the new BBC "Sherlock" with Benidect Cumberbatch is quite good. I'm excited for the second season.

I remember him and Jeremy Brett fondly. They were by far my favorite Holmes and Watson.

This is sad news. He was the perfect level-headed foil to Jeremy Brett's flamboyant Sherlock Holmes.
