I've taken this list from the Science Fiction films with the best reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

There is a choice of 19 plus 'Other'.

Obviously some really good ones have been left out, as I couldn't make a bigger poll (the list is a bit too long really, but I found it hard to make it shorter).

Please choose 'Other' and give details below if your choice is not listed.

Which one do you think is the best?

Matrix was the most philosophically interesting but I would wish to see more films as I've not seen a lot of the films on that list.

Original Planet of the Apes all the way! I'm just so fascinated by that universe, with the talking apes enslaving the humans, the social hierarchy among the apes themselves, the setting, the journey of Charlton Heston's character. It's just epic.

As big of a Tim Burton fan as I am, I have to admit that his version of this particular movie couldn't hold a candle to the original. Come to think of it, I didn't much care for his other sci-fi movie, Mars Attacks, either. In my honest opinion, the man needs to stick to doing what he does best: dark fantasy.

I don't know how bad it is, I've never bothered to watch it.

I also way prefer Mad Max 2 over the first film.

Can we just have a 'Moog's opinions on everything' thread? :P

You're welcome to create one. How about a Moog's 'Thought for the Day' thread?
You could be Wrong Planet's very own Terry Wogan.

Ridley Scott's final cut (until next time) of Blade Runner.

One of the few films that is better than the book it is based on... very relevant for Aspies too.

Solaris. The end. P.S. I don't really give a toss about Science Fiction, but Solaris.

You should have divided them and asked the question by sub-genre. There's really no accurate way to compare a cyberpunk film like The Matrix to a space opera film like Star Wars. They're totally different.

It's not meant to be a scientifically accurate poll, just a bit of fun. There are many published Top 10/Top 100 Science Fiction lists that do not subdivide them further. But I understand what you are saying.

Galaxy quest requires having seen enough Star Trek to make sense of the jokes...;) I actually liked the Sci-Fi channel adaptation of Dune (well, the first 30 hours or so...was it really that long?...;) than the 80s version (which hasn't aged well, but neither have I...;)
