anyone else hoped that the new show Terra Nova was going to be about finding another planet to colonize rather than the plot of having been sent through time?

Not seen it, but since going to another planet has been done already, I suppose it was a way to be innovative.

Did they go backwards or forward?

Forward would be more intriguing....especially if Earth basically became "prehistoric" far in the future. Going backwards begs the question of certain doom since they either inevitably plant the seeds of man on earth or die out before man "evolves."

In a sense they went forwards to create a new planet but they found dinosaurs. So I would say both.
