ARGG! As a HUGE Potter fan I HATE that stuff has been changed from seeing previews!! !! !! ! The ending of a awesome duel (which is still in) BUT in the previews "Come on Tom lets finish this and Harry pulls him off the tower and they fall together" SO NOT IN THE BOOK DAMN IT!! !! THEN I just saw about Snape! Harry is in the great hall (Tell them how you killed him) (to Snape aka involving Dumbledores death) UH! I don't remember THIS HAPPENING!! !! !! !! !! In the book Harry gets the memory and runs to Dumbldeores office and uses that pot thingy and looks at Snapes history and that his allegience was REALLY with Dumbledore! WHAT OTHER s**t HAVE THEY CHANGED!! !! ! I still am psyched for the final film but as a HUGE POTTER fan I HATE these changes!! !! !! Dad feels I shouldn't get "bent out of shape" over movie. He's not Aspie and doesn't understand me. :-) So I thought I'd post my anger here! DAMN YOU DEAHTLY HALLOWS PT. 2 FOR CHANGING FROM THE FINAL BOOK!! !! !! !! !! !! !

I've never cared much about adaptations changing my favorite books, as long as the result is good. Blade Runner is my favorite movie, and the book it's based on (Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?) is one of my favorite books, and they have very little in common aside from the basic plot. Filmmakers should feel free to make whatever changes they want. If you want the book, read the book. I have no interest in watching some kind of Sin City BS movie that just copies the book scene for scene and word for word.

The films are annoyingly inaccurate >.> I'm also annoyed by the people that watch the films, but haven't read the books. Maybe there should be a project to remake the films correctly...

Aside from trying to figure out what will make money, films have a certain structure to them that most books don't fit like a glove. When screenwriting, the writer usually has a template to go with so that they can formulate a script: three acts in a film, each of which are further divided up into beats and turning points in order to move the story in an orderly fashion. Not adapting books to where the film perfectly matches is as old as filmmaking itself.

The preview with Voldemort and Harry on the tower sure more suspensful for a film I get it. But the "Snape" stuff "tell them what you did!" etc. Is WRONG! I liked the books setup of Harry getting the memory and running to the office and using that pot thing and finding out OMG! Snape was on Harry's side all along! WOW! This film version of "You killed him tell them what you did." While IMO in character for Harry I like the way the book played it out far more. Perhaps that memory part stuff is still in there someway that was a great part of the book.
