I was on wikipedia last night and went on the Transformers Prime page and apparently it says that the crew is possibly planning a theatrical movie based on the series. It could be a rumour though but it was on the top page. Go see for yourself. Personally I would welcome something such as this, especially after the reception of the live action movie trilogy. Of course despite the many flaws in these movies which do make me kringe like every one else, I do actually enjoy them, the first one and the third one mostly. I will admit that the second one is kinda messed up, confusing and pretty dumb but it's not too bad, it's kind of an OK sort of movie. A movie based on the Prime series will probably be more redeeming, as long as they don't do what the G1 animated movie did(which I like by the way) and kill off characters from the series and replace them with new ones especially Optimus and Megatron, I want them in the film from start to finish. I think there may be a fourth film in the live action series and I wouldn't be suprised if both movies were made, it's been done before with Batman Mask of the Phantasm which is a theatrical animated movie based off the Bruce Timm animated series from the 90's. It was released a year after Batman Returns and two years after MOTP came Batman Forever which is a sequel to Batman Returns. MOTP did poorly at the box office but was a critical sucess non the less.

I wouldn't necessarily get excited from any news off of Wikipedia. Until a formal announcement comes from the studio or from a legitimate source, I'm not putting any stock into it.
