Japanese opening in Québec

I knew of japanese songs kept intact in the Québec version of the first season of Heidi and Le petit castor, but first time I've heard about a japanese opening kept intact.

Rather peculiar as a opening in french was show in France, and beside not using the song they used the translated texts. Edit: Turn out that the texts were initially in japanese in Québec diffusions.

Of course it was along time ago, nowaday a anime on Québec television outside of the heavily butchered stuff distributed by Nelvana is unthinkable.
