I'm currently learning Na'vi, the language from the film Avatar, but have no chance to practice it. I've tried the IRC chatroom, but the users are all idle. I do not think the addition of Skype contacts is a good idea. The forums at LearnNavi are almost idle. Any Na'vi learners out there who can help?

I hope you are not doing this in place of activities away from home with people. 8O

lol no. Didn't even know it had an official language.

That's quite an unusual interest OP. I'm not surprised you can't find too many people prepared to learn it. The movie wasn't particularly well received. A lot of people found it underwhelming and (most of all) cliche.

Sounds like an enormous waste of time. You could be spending time learning an actual language you could use in the real world, instead of a fictional one from a terrible movie. If you really want to spend time learning a language from a film, why not learn Lakota from the superior film Dances with Wolves, a film which Avatar so desperately wanted to be?

Doesn't want to learn a language from a film. Wants to learn Na'vi specifically.

I know Sun on Facebook. He already knows Cantonese and I believe Mandarin. So it's not a waste of time. Conlanging and learning conlangs is a hobby, don't bite his face off for it bro.
