Anyone else interested in his films? I've seen 3 of them: enter the Void, Irreversible, and the one with the out of work butcher.

They are all films that have been powerful for me and have stayed with me in my thoughts and feelings.

I've only seen Irreversible of his. I really want to see Seul Contre Tous though but I don't think there's a decent DVD of that out there.

Yes, that's the third one I mean - translates as I Stand Alone. I watched a version of tolerable quality on Youtube recently. It's tribute to the substance the film that I was able to overlook the image quality almost entirely. Not that Noe is lacking in visual style, either.

I think he's only dome one other feature called Carne. No. I've just checked and that seems to be a short.

What did you make of Irreversible? I'm struggling for words to desribe my experience of it. Probably one of the key films to have meant something to my life in recent times, on top of being a more than compelling watch at the time.

Irreversible is the best film I never want to see again. Seul Contre Tous is a close second.

Absolutely incredible films, Enter the Void is a visual masterpiece. Don't actually know what more to say, only more superlatives about how good his work is.

I might say though that anyone wanting to watch Irreversible should not read up any information on it, because people spoil it instantly everywhere I've seen information about it. If you want to watch it, be prepared for an incredibly brutal yet brilliant movie.

Yep. Roger that. It's hard to speak about satisfactorily but the thing itself is so good that I just want to express it or do something more with it or something. Film, and music, is usually a very personal, internal thing for me. Probably enjoy movies and music most when experiencing them alone. In fact, the presence of another can really put me off by just being there with the film or music. Probably would say the same about art and literature in general.
