I thought I was the only person who loved/remembered Sagwa!
I used to watch that show every single day when I came home from school! I couldn't miss an episode or else I'd have a meltdown, haha. That show even made me want to go to China and I felt like my soul was crushed when my dad said "they eat cats in China" (sorry if that information is incorrect or offensive - my dad's not the most politically-correct person in the world). I wish they'd put the series on Netflix Streaming, because I'd love to watch it again, if only for nostalgic value. Sagwa needs an adult following like MLP!
I didn't realize Sagwa was an old show....I thought it was new.......I don't remember it from when I was a kid (but I'm 27 now so it could be after my generation but still old). It just recently started playing on TVO kids in Toronto Canada (maybe it's a new show in Canada?). Anyway..... if anyone wants to watch them...they're episodes on youtube. Here's a link to the first episode:

awww that's sad about your dream to go to China. Sagwa got me interested in Chinese legends and culture too. The episodes are based on real Chinese myths and legends (a lot of them anyway). You might already know this but the writer of Sagwa is Amy Tan who wrote the Joy Luck Club!
I agree that Sagwa needs an adult following. When I tell people I watch it they have no idea what I'm talking about and usually laugh because the name of the cartoon sounds so funny "Sagwa the Chinese Siamese cat"
