Khan and Chekov

In "The Wrath of Khan" Khan says to Chekov, "I never forget a face". But Khan could not have remembered Chekov because Chekov was never in the episode of "Space Seed". Anyone noticed this?

This is something that has been discussed before. I say it's a countinuity error, but to unerror it people usually say that Chekov was there but we didn't see him. Maybe he and Khan met off screen. "Space Seed" was from Season 1 and Chekov didn't appear until Season 2. Of course Chekov didn't appear in every episode. Sometimes he was at the helm with Sulu, sometimes with some nobody and sometimes Sulu was with a nobody. What you have to know and understand is that Star Trek is not without it's countinuity errors and people either just ignore them or come up with a reason for them.

In the novelization of the movie, Pavel recalls that he was a young crewman that had a crush on Marla MacGivers. So actually Khan was BS-ing: of COURSE he knew who Chekov was.

One night, Khan had eaten too much of the chili special. Unfortunately, as he tried to make it into the head on C-Deck, he was beaten to the punch by newly-assigned ensign Pavel Chekhov. As he made a mad dash to the turbolift to find an available head, he snarled, "I shall remember your face!!"
